Signing and verifying your own workloads is free, forever — on Community, every artifact can be signed and checked locally and offline. What you pay for is the hosted, managed ArmoredLedger: tamper-evident provenance you can prove to an auditor without standing up and operating the infrastructure yourself.

You pay a simple per-node base, with generous included quotas. If you exceed them, metered overage keeps the bill honest — we never charge per attestation, because that would teach you to verify less.

Common questions.

What counts as a node?

A node is a single machine — physical, virtual, or cloud instance — running a Volt runtime such as Voltainer or VoltVisor. You pay per node at the paid tiers; the number of workloads, containers, or VMs on a node is governed by your tier’s quotas, not billed per workload.

Is the Community tier really free?

Yes. Community is free for individuals, education, and non-profits under our source-available license, and includes the full Volt workflow plus local, offline ArmoredLedger signing and verification. The paid tiers add the hosted, managed ledger, unlimited nodes, team features, and support.

Why isn’t AI a separate plan?

Workloads are workloads, however you create them — containers, virtual machines, or AI. The value Armored Gate provides is the same: cryptographic attestation and tamper-evidence in ArmoredLedger. AI-assisted operations (including MCP) are included with Enterprise rather than sold as a standalone add-on.

How does metered overage work?

Each paid tier includes quotas for storage, registry bandwidth, and build minutes. If you stay within them, you pay only your per-node base. If you exceed them, overage is metered at the published rates and added to the same invoice. We do not charge per attestation — verification should never cost you more to do more of.
